This gives information about the Ontario Lightning Hockey Development program.
Welcome to the Ontario Lightning Hockey Clubs. Ontario is the hotbed of Minor Hockey, and can provide many opportunities for youths playing hockey today. I ask, “Are the kids of today provided with the development programs and opportunities that allow them to excel in life?” The average Parent will spend over $25,000 - 50,000 on their child to play Minor Rep Hockey! Their only greater investment is their home.
The Ontario Lightning hockey organization was introduced to help kids develop into good hockey players and even better citizens.
These are not inseparable. Some leagues today have no time or interest in committing to the continual development of a team. There are many
reasons: lack of resources, lack of ice time, or the demand to win right away. In the end, who should win? The only ones who should win are the players.
They are committing their time, dedication — not too mention money — to be developed. They trust their coaches, teams, and
organizations, who will be defining influences in their lives.
Kids need more development to move to the next level, and too many kids quit hockey because they are frustrated by inexperienced organizations and by coaches who do not understand the real reason these kids are there.
The Ontario Lightning do understand. We offer qualified professionals and programs which look at skill, education, and motivation. When we commit to a player, we actually commit to a player. Our goal is the same as the players and the parents: to build their hockey and off-ice skills, and to take advantage of all of the opportunities that are available in pursuing hockey as a part of their life. No one owns these kids. It is their goals and their skills which will drive their willingness to succeed. Every opportunity exists, from OHL, NHL, college, and university. Every aspect of our program allows the player to develop at the pace best for them: too many players are rushed into decisions that are later regretted.
We stress twice as much ice time and quality off-ice training.
We put the player first, with many opportunities and with ample time to reach them.
This is the Ontario Lightning: helping athletes reach their peak performance on and off the ice!
Yours Very Truly
