Grand Opening of Hockey Rink AdditionThe Ontario Lightning Hockey Clubs announce the grand opening of its new home rink addition at the Nottawasaga Resort.
Lightning player Jordan Furlane attended the grand opening of the second NHL-size hockey rink at the resort. Jordan found time to meet Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe, who was the Special Guest at the opening, in addition to Pierre Pilote, former all star defenseman for the Chicago Blackhawks, and NHL free agent Jeff O’Neill, formerly of the Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs.
There was a puck-drop by Lou Biffis, president of the resort, along with Gordie Howe and Pierre Pilote. Several politicians honored the Biffis
and Lombardi Families for their great works to the whole community, including the new hockey facility.
The Ontario Lightning are fortunate to be making the Nottawasaga Centre Ice facility their home for their practices, games, camps, and other hockey programs.
